Rigor Mortis
I hear a voice, but I can’t see
I don’t know if it’s a dream
I don’t think that I can breathe
Struggle with my memory
All my thoughts are running loose
I try to move but it’s no use
I think I am trapped inside
Claustrophobic, catatonic, start to panic, feeling manic I think
I’m going to lose my mind
Chorus:
(Help me!)
Can you hear me
Can you hear me
Can you hear me losing all control
Can you hear me
Can you hear me
Can you hear me I’m losing all control
Cutting flesh and sawing bone
Silent screaming, all alone
Counting guts as fluids leak
Steam is rising, insides reek
All my thoughts are running loose
I try to move but it’s no use
Somehow I am still alive
Claustrophobic, catatonic, start to panic, feeling manic I think
I’m going to lose my mind

The Story...
Rigor Mortis is the part of the Johnny Gruesome story after John
Grissom's death and there is an autopsy being performed on his
body. The problem is, Johnny is still aware of what's going on.
He's not quite dead and doesn't know what's happening.
Marcy and Giasone had a great time describing the scene, and
eventually, Giasone rewrote the lyrics at the end of the verses
to include the "laundry list" of emotions Johnny might
be feeling.
Greg drove out to Marcy and Giasone's house to record the part
of Dr. Ronald Beelock. They set up the microphones in the basement
hooked up to the computer, and tried a few takes. As it turned
out, one of the takes was exactly the length needed to fit into
the middle section of the song.
