The Story...

Both raised in Hamilton, both Giasone and Marcy grew up knowing the story of Evelyn Dick and the infamous Torso Murder story. Evelyn was married to John Dick, and the story of how the murder was actually committed kept changing. Did her father help her chop off his arms, legs, and head? Was the mafia involved when his torso was thrown over the Hamilton (Ontario) escarpment? If you ever get a chance to read about the trials that took place, they are fascinating and confusing as Evelyn kept changing her story and her mental capability came under question. After she was parolled twelve years later, she disappeared. She changed her name and apparently went on to be a successful business woman. Only one person knows her true identity and she refuses to talk about Evelyn.

Children who found the torso over the side of the Hamilton "Mountain" thought it was a pig's body in March of 1946, close to where Marcy lived (years later). There was a children's rhyme that was sung on playgrounds while skipping rope describing the chopping off of the limbs and head:
You cut off his legs...
You cut off his arms...
You cut off his head...
