Death Mobile
Monster ride
Breathin’ smoke
The parts have tales to tell
Black as night
Singed by fire
On its way back from Hell
Chorus:
Death Mobile
Death Mobile
Death Mobile
Fire and Steel
Driving by
Feel the pain
You’ll have a heart attack
Say your prayers
Hear him laugh
You’re never coming back
Chorus:
Death Mobile
Death Mobile
Death Mobile
Fire and Steel
Resurrect
Hammered out
Johnny will come for you
Headlight gone
It still moves on
There’s nothing you can do
Chorus:
Death Mobile
Death Mobile
Death Mobile
Fire and Steel

The Story...
The only thing Greg insisted upon was a song about
the car that Johnny drives, and he sent Giasone and Marcy descriptions
from the novel. With no further direction, they were off to the
races. The lyrics were actually quite hard to come up with while
trying to stay simple, yet tell a story, and there were many versions
of the chorus before settling on the final chant-like version.
While laying down ghost vocals and goofing around
with the song, Giasone and Marcy started to replace the words
"Death Mobile" with silly rhymes, and to this day, Marcy
will always hear, at least once "Ron Popeil," or "Cop
a Feel," or "Eating Veal." (Did I mention they
had some late Friday night martinis while songwriting?)
